Geil EVO ONE 10660 C7 1,5v (2x2GB) DDR3 Review

For those who don’t know GEIL-The initials GEIL mean Golden Emperor International,Ltd.

The Company has founded in 1993, and due to its quality soon became “one of the most professional memory module manufactures in the industry. . Since then GeIL has been concentrating in memory module design and manufacturing. As of today, our manufacturing facilities employ over 200 people and produce a wide variety of modules with distribution in over 50 countries worldwide. GeIL’s Global Headquarter resides in the heart of computer technology – Taipei with branches spreading over in Hong Kong, China and U.S.A.”

This Series of memory is characterized by technology Evo One MTCD (Maximized Thermal Conduction & Dissipation), a dissipation system consisting of a series of aluminum plates connected to a copper heat pipe that can significantly lower operating temperatures.

*Die-hard Burn-in Technology Enhanced means it can handle temperatures above normal fine during long time periods.

Unboxing/First Impressions

Unfortunately I forgot to take some photos of the Outside package, But it comes very well wrapped, in a double bubble envelope.

The memory Outside Case is nothing like the Gskill that we are going to Review Next, this One have a Very nice Black cardboard case, clearly Gaming style.

There´s a close look on the memory DBT certificate, Notice too that´s there´s no need to cut the modules open out of a Plastic protective like happens in most memories. This little things, make the difference, you can always keep the Memory case to reutilize whenever you want.

Notice the MTCD which makes remember a heatpipe design. And a Closer looks on the Memory´s Label.

Supported Timmings

This Memory´s are CL6 Capable, if you change The SPD in BIOS to 571 MHz or lower.

1st Part – Default tests

All testes are made with 16M in SuperPI

1066 MHz – C6 1,5v (11m 31s)

1333 MHz – C7 1,5v (11m 42s)

 

2nd Part – Overclocked tests

1600 MHz – C7 1,54v (9min 44s)

It bugged somehow can´t see the SuperPI TAB.

1700MHz – C9 1,57v (9min 9s)

Tried 1700 MHz with C8 and 1,57v but it just got unstable doesn’t matter how hard I tried.

1750 MHz – c9, 1,572v (9min 01s)

I tried to reach 1800mhz but it wasn’t fully stable and I didn’t wanted to pass 1,59v.
This 1750Mhz test showed to be the better there for I’m going to make a Performance check on this as a Memories Max ,and then we will confront Geil 1750Mhz Vs Gskill Max MHz to see Performance Discrepancies.

Don´t know if it´s visible but it´s a Global performance of 903.8 for memory.

  • Geil EVO ONE 10660 C7 1,5v (2x2GB) DDR3 ~150$ USD.

  • This kit Overlocks like a Dream, a Low End Overclocking User can easily reach 1600 MHz without any substantial efforts.

  • The MTCD (Maximized Thermal Conduction & Dissipation),is really well tought you won’t have overheating troubles.

  • The fact they Work at 1,5v wich gives you some “gap” to Overclock them.

  • You get a nicer package then regular kits.

  • I gott the Feeling 1750 MHz isn´t the Max and that I still could go further if I had the time to or a P55 based system.

These are the perfect memories, they have it all, every detail is there, starting with the Outside Protective case, the innovative dissipation system, low Latencies, Low voltage, and don´t forget that this memory’s are 1333 MHz rated, are have gone up to 1750 MHz’s. All this with less than 160$/120€ price.
The right Choice if you want some Memories that don’t hold your CPU Overclock back! Doesn´t Matter witch CPU you have this Memories Overclock with AMD/Intel greatly.
