Windows 8 Available for Download

The new upcoming Windows 8 is now available for download, this is a pre-beta developer version.

By using the software you bear the risk. It may not be stable, operate correctly or work the way the final version of the software will. It should not be used in a production environment. The features and functionality in the prerelease software may not appear in the final version. Some product features and functionality may require advanced or additional hardware, or installation of other software.

The new interface is primarily intended to tablets, but is perfectly usable on desktops and laptops as well. See the computex 2011 video bellow:

    Rui estive a um passo de instalar o windows8, mas lembrei-me que ele poderia substituir o vista. Será que podes ensinar como instalar em dual boot? Assim como tenho ubuntu e vista para escolher no arranque do pc, também queria poder escolher o windows8. Obrigado.

      Boas Nuno, para ter varios sistemas operativos no mesmo PC deve-se ter uma particao para cada um deles, como tal deves criar uma particao com pelo menos 25Gb e instalar la o Windows 8, mas nesta fase inicial talvez o melhor mesmo seja instalar numa maquina virtual.

      Tem atencao que deves fazer backups antes de efectuar estes procedimentos.

      Boas hawK, não te recomendo como SO principal, mas com dual boot ou mesmo numa máquina virtual funciona bastante bem.
